BMW working to develop "Apple Car?"

Speculation has been widespread among the German media that technology giant Apple is interested in developing their very own "Apple Car" with the world-renound automotive brand, BMW.

BMW has taken huge strides in recent years to create innovative and ground-breaking technology for their vehicles, and the company's efforts to hire people with deep-rooted experience in vehicular hardware suggests that they are looking to go a step further.

It has been reported that negotiations between Apple and BMW have been underway since August 2014 for the development of an electric Apple Car.

We understand that Apple's proposals include using the BMW i3 as the body of their very own vehicle, but a deal between both parties has not yet been agreed. Hundreds of employees have reportedly been set the task of working with Apple, aiding them in their development on what has been described as "Project Titan."

Apple chiefs are keen to keep things under wraps for now, refusing to comment on any developments for this unique opportunity. The company may not be willing to comment on the situation officially but it has been suggested that CEO Tim Cook has been visiting BMW's facilities in Leipzig, Germany. The dates for such meetings have not been confirmed, but we understand that he made several trips to Germany in February this year.

On the other hand, BMW manager Oliver Zipse has offered a more open outlook on proceedings. He said: "We live in a world of partnerships."

Interesting words Mr Zipse... Interesting.
