Bridgestone tyres selected for new Fiat 500X crossover

Fiat has chosen tyres from Bridgestone for the new Fiat 500X crossover. Delivery of Turanza T001 tyres in size 225/45 R18 91V to the Fiat factory in Melfi, Italy has already started.

500X is the latest member of the popular Fiat 500 family and follows the 500, 500 Cabrio and 500L, which is also factory-fitted with Bridgestone Turanza tyres. With the 500X, Fiat has developed an urban vehicle available as a 2-wheel drive called City Look and a more powerful 4-wheel drive version, named Off-Road Look. Criteria for tyre development were oriented towards excellent rolling resistance, noise and handling performance.

Christophe de Valroger, VP Original Equipment, Bridgestone Europe: "Bridgestone is proud to have been selected for Fiat 500X, the first urban vehicle developed for the city offering the option of 4-wheel drive performance. The premium Turanza T001 tyre was able to meet Fiat's demanding performance requirements which include very strict rolling resistance criteria for fuel economy."

Turanza T001 is Bridgestone's flagship premium touring tyre, developed to provide total harmony between safety, comfort, durability and environmental performance. The tyre has received top accolades in independent tyre tests, including the coveted "very recommendable" rating from Germany's ADAC and Autozeitung organisations in 2015.
