ITIA - Irish Tyre Industry Association

The Irish Tyre Industry Association was formed in 1998 to unite all sectors of the tyre industry under a single 'umbrella'. "We are unique in European terms in that we have one only association to represent manufacturers, importers, wholesalers, retailers, and equipment suppliers. Consequently we have broader objectives, such as interceding with government and keeping our members informed of EU legislation and how it may affect them.

SIMI - The Society of the Irish Motor Industry

The SIMI is the official voice of the motor industry in Ireland. Membership of the Society requires companies to operate to the highest standards of business ethics and integrity. Motorists should look for a current SIMI logo as a symbol of reassurance.

TRACS, the Tyre Recovery Activity Compliance Scheme

TRACS, the Tyre Recovery Activity Compliance Scheme, came into operation in January 2008 following the new Waste Management Regulations from the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government. In 2009, an estimated 25,000 tonnes of waste tyres were generated in Ireland. TRACS is a voluntary compliance scheme for tyre industry operators to monitor the movement of tyres within the industry and promote legitimate reuse and recycling of waste tyres. By joining TRACS, tyre industry operators, suppliers, and waste collectors will fulfil their obligations under the Regulations.

TyreSafe is one of the Europe's leading tyre safety organisations, dedicated to raising awareness about the dangers associated with defective or illegal tyres. It was established in 2006 as a not for profit organisation and campaigns in line with current legislation and duty of care regulations.
